Transport WA says Stage 1 crash-towing reforms introduced authority-to-tow, conduct, safety, maximum-charge and storage rules from January 2025. Its current 2026 guidance publishes capped charges for crashed light vehicles in Perth and Peel and distinguishes reasonable charges for heavy vehicles, recovery and work outside those regions. Transport WA also says regulated towing businesses in Perth and Peel must be authorised from 1 September 2026, with applications open from July.
Because this page is dated August 2026, campaigns must not present a pending authorisation as already held or leave September creative unchanged without verification. Joondalup, Wanneroo and Canning are within the metro context, while Rockingham can intersect the Perth–Peel definition; the actual crash location and current official region determine the charge framework. The approved authority-to-tow form should record destination and applicable charges.
Ads cannot mimic police, Main Roads, an insurer or roadside service branding, and recovery, storage and secondary tows need transparent scope. Breakdown and trade transport remain distinct from regulated crash towing. A live dispatch estimate is safer than a fixed arrival guarantee across a wide service area.
