01What changes in Brisbane
Queensland’s Tow Truck Act 2023 and Tow Truck Regulation 2024 regulate crash, police-seizure and private-property towing in designated areas including Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and other named areas.
Transport and Main Roads says accredited operators, drivers and assistants and authorised trucks are required for regulated work, while breakdown and trade towing are outside that scheme. The current scheme also publishes maximum regulated charges and says the standard crash tow includes an hour of scene work, transport to the agreed destination and 72 hours of holding-yard storage.
An authority form is completed and signed at the incident site under the operator process. A Brisbane campaign should not quote those figures for an owner-requested breakdown or imply an assistant can drive the truck. Redlands, Logan and Ipswich are separately named regulated contexts, while Moreton Bay coverage depends on the scheme map and current boundary definitions.
Private-property towing needs the proper consent, record and signage process; a landlord lead does not itself prove lawful removal. Ads should identify the nearest suitable holding yard, access and release terms where relevant and keep recovery work outside a standard-tow assumption. All accreditation claims need current verification.
