01What changes in Sydney
NSW Government expressly says a motor vehicle repairer licence is required for an owner or self-employed repairer and for a mobile repair business, including part-time work and subcontracting. Anyone carrying out repair work also needs a current motor vehicle tradesperson certificate, subject to the published minor-repair exceptions. Current fee guidance treats a mobile workshop as a place of business.
A Sydney campaign should therefore show credentials belonging to the actual business and technician rather than using a generic “qualified mechanic” badge. Parramatta, Penrith, Liverpool and the Sutherland Shire create a wide travel market, so call-out zones, minimum job types and availability need to be mapped realistically.
A vehicle stopped on a motorway or exposed traffic lane should be handled through the appropriate emergency or roadside process, not converted into an ordinary driveway booking. The form should explain diagnosis fees and authorisation, but it must not request sensitive vehicle identifiers in an exposed lead-ad field or promise parts before the exact vehicle is verified.
